Lexington Deserves more HOMES.
Lexingtonians deserve homes they can afford. As a real estate professional, I saw first hand the dream of home ownership become out of reach for many first time home buyers because of the lack of starter homes and skyrocketing home prices. As a business owner, I understand the challenge of hiring and the reduced quality of life when employees are forced to move outside of Lexington just to find a safe, affordable place to call home. As an active community member, I see the daily impact of lack of affordable housing has on our community with the increasing number of families and children experiencing homelessness. And as a mother, I want my college-aged son and my middle school daughter to have a chance of building a life here in Lexington – the place we call home.
As Mayor I will…
Bring down housing costs for families.
Reduce red tape for development.
Implement a plan for building communities, not just units.
Give priority to Affordable Housing, Starter Homes, Multi-family Units.
Make plans and goals public and provide accountability tools for tracking.
